Lockton unveils new U.S. practice alignment to better serve clients

Privately held insurance brokerage Lockton has made a range of national leadership appointments to reinforce its commitment to key industries, reportedly expanding its expertise and industry focus.
Namely, Matthew Payne has been named U.S. Transportation Practice Leader; Rob Hausler, U.S. Energy Practice Leader; Eric Braverman, U.S. Law Firms Practice Leader; Anita Farmer and Rob Cairo, U.S. Cargo & Logistics Practice Leaders; and Jana Byron, U.S. Marine Risks & Liability Practice Leader.
Lockton noted that these U.S. practice leadership appointments demonstrate its commitment to leveraging its top-tier industry expertise to best serve clients.
Payne, who has served in several leadership roles at Lockton since joining the firm in 1998, was most recently the Transportation and Energy Team Leader for the firm’s region that includes Kansas City, Birmingham, Des Moines, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Minneapolis, and Omaha.
Meanwhile, Hausler joined Lockton in 2018 and most recently served as the Marine and Energy Practice Leader for the firm’s Texas region.
Before joining Lockton, Hausler spent more than 30 years serving in leadership roles with other insurance companies and brokerages.
Braverman joined Lockton in 2024 as Professional Services Practice Leader for the firm’s Midwest region, and previously worked as a managing director at Aon, and in several other leadership roles throughout his more than 35 years in the insurance and legal industries.
Farmer and Cairo both joined Lockton in 2018 and most recently served as co-leaders of the firm’s Northeast Marine Practice.
Lockton said Farmer brings more than 30 years of industry experience, with expertise in cargo and specialty risks. Cairo has 25 years’ experience across all marine lines of business.
Finally, Byron is a maritime attorney with more than 27 years of experience in protection & indemnity.
She joined Lockton in 2020 and most recently served as Practice Leader and Exclusive U.S. Representative for P.L. Ferrari, which was acquired by Lockton.
