Pacific Life Re appoints new leaders in Asia to strengthen regional partnerships

Life and health reinsurer Pacific Life Re has appointed Wallace Ong to the newly created role of Head of Business Proposition and Enablement, Protection, Asia, while Spenser Chen succeeds him as Head of South East Asia (SEA), Protection, Asia.

For the last 18 months, Ong has managed the Southeast Asia and China protection teams. In his new role, Ong will focus on strengthening the reinsurer’s value proposition and accelerating market readiness across Asia. This strategic move aligns with the company’s broader regional ambition to deepen its regional presence and deliver greater value to its partners.

Chen has over 15 years of experience across consulting, insurance and reinsurance markets in Southeast Asia, Japan, and the United Kingdom. He will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams to deepen client partnerships, deliver market-specific solutions, and strengthen the company’s presence in the region.
