HDI Global names Peter Schraa as Head of Marine, Singapore

HDI Global, an international insurer specialising in commercial and industrial clients, has appointed Peter Schraa as its new Head of Marine in Singapore, effective December 1st, 2025.

This appointment aligns with the insurer’s ambitions to expand operations in Southeast Asia and further strengthens its foothold regionally.

In his new role, Schraa will report to Alex Tarantino, Managing Director and Principal Officer, HDI Global Singapore. He will focus on expanding HDI Global Singapore’s Marine underwriting capabilities in Southeast Asia.

Additionally, Schraa will use his regional expertise and work closely with local underwriters in HDI Global’s Singapore office to further develop the marine portfolio.

HDI Global in Singapore says that the region is a marine focus area because it is a major maritime and trading hub for Asia-Pacific.

Through this appointment, HDI Global aims to support brokers and clients with solutions tailored to the region’s evolving supply chain and logistics risks.

Schraa has over two decades of experience across Europe and nearly a decade in Singapore, holding multiple senior underwriting roles within primary insurance companies.
